Understanding the Body
A typical fit session begins with a series of questions about the type of training and racing you perform, as well as any unique biomechanical issues you may be experiencing. We examine key contact points and other indicators – shoes, feet, cleats, flexibility, and riding style – and examine your current riding position for any abnormalities. Reducing Your Metabolic Cost
An optimal bike fit can minimize your total metabolic cost, thus lowering the required heart rate and oxygen necessary to sustain a given power output. Our research and countless fit sessions have been able to determine the optimal biomechanical ranges and adjustments that help athletes produce more power while expending less energy.
Motion Capture Fit System
The Motion Capture Fit System uses sensors attached to your hip, shoulder, knee, wrist, and foot to create a three dimensional image of your current riding position. Using the data provided by the Motion Capture system, we can address common position problems such as hip tilt and knee wobble, down to a single millimeter or degree of movement. Because the Motion Capture system provides instant feedback, we can quickly determine how you adapt to each position adjustment.
Designed for the Wind Tunnel
Finding your optimal position on a time trial bike can have its own set of challenges. Durata Training has worked with many of the world’s best triathletes and time trialists to understand the balance of aerodynamics and biomechanics. Utilizing the same fitting tools and research, as well as extensive wind tunnel experience, we work with each individual rider to arrive at their optimal position. Based on your style of racing, our coaches can provide expert advice on technique, pacing, and adjustments that you can make to save valuable seconds or even minutes.
Dialing in Key Measurements
Using a combination of experience, our scientific research, and feedback from our Motion Capture Fit System, we dial in your optimal riding position. The final bike measurements are then recorded so the rider’s position can be replicated, also ensuring a baseline for future changes. Riding positions can change quite often due to growth, age, fitness level, weight loss, or biomechanical conditioning.
